The Science of Defence is an Art Geometricall, wherewith the body is guarded with a single or double weapon from wrong of the Offender, or the greatest disadvantage of his Offence.

The Parts thereto required are Strength and Judgement. Under strength are comprehended swiftness of motion and quickness of eye: where abilitie is without perfection of these, it is but a supply of defects, drawne from the judiciall part or judgement.

Under judgement fall the considerations of time, place, and distance. It hath seemed to many that there is no certainty in this Science, which granted, it must sole his tytle; in whose behalfe wee cannot but with great reason averre, that as the body is punctuall, to it hath a just circumference in the hands and feet, which to defence and safeguard thereof, runne in an equall line, which extended with strength in a just proportion; make the body the same as the poynt is in Circle, untoucht or impossible to be violated.

Alexander du Lac hast shown skill and knowledge in both forms as duellest, teacher, marshalle and champion and thus am I moved to induct him into the Order of the Dragon Combatant on this 26th Day of Marche, AS 45 at the Festivale of the Passing of the Ice Dragon.

Barony of the Rhydderich Hael - Martial Award

In the name of Carolus and Isolda, 10th Baron and Baroness of the Rhydderich Hael, peace be upon all who hears or sees these words. Wherefore let the generality of the present as well as the future subjects of our Barony know a competition was held, between the finest throwers of our lands. Many axes, knives and spears where thrown but one did prevail against all others. We do confirm, therefore, this lawful promotion of our {INSERT NAME HERE} to be the Thrown Weapons Champion of the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael and to ourselves and our successors. And wishing this to remain valid unto all their posterity, we forbid by edict that any one, with rash daring, infringe it, or in any way, attempt to violate it, and we validly corroborate this our decree by the present privilege, signed by our hands, the witnesses being all who were in attendance at Baronial Champs, the 23rd of May, AS 50.

Barony of the Rhydderich Hael - Martial Award

Salutations and greetings to all the nobles and gentles of the Rhydderich Hael seeing or hearing these presents. Since those things which are done lapse with the passage of time, and unless they are corroborated by written testimony, will easily slip the memories of men and women, and be changed, we wish it to be known to all people both now and in the future that we, Magnus and Murigel, 11th Baron and Baroness, are most pleased with the thrown weapons skill of {INSERT NAME HERE} and proclaim to all that he/she is to be our thrown weapons champion. Therefore, in order that no calumny may arise in the future, and in order that all doubt may be removed, we have strengthened this gift of ours, corroborating it in writing and with our hands in the year, AS twelve and forty.

Barony of the Rhydderich Hael - Kingdom of AEthelmearc

Unto Their Imperial Majesties, Magnus Tindal and Etain, does Their servant, Padraig O'Branduibh, send greetings and good will. Pleaseth Your most excellent Majesties to understand that, whereas, at sundry times heretofore, Your subjects gather to decide who they wish to wear the coronets of the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael. This past June, your nobles and commons did gather and give rise to a vote and did select, before all others, Magnus de Lyons and Miriel du Lac as successors to Carolus and Isolda, Baron and Baroness of the Rhydderich Hael. A petition, thereupon hath been made to Your Imperial Majesties, that this will of Your Barony might be examined and determinded by the holy law and policy of Your lands. To testify to Your Majesties by my writing, that which I have before promised by my word and will and by the word and will of those Your subjects here undersigned, most humbly beseeching Your Majesties to comfort Your Barony and place the dragon coronets upon the heads of Magus and Miriel. Thus, most gracious Majesties, I beseech you long life and good health.
From Padraig, Seneschal of the Barony of the Rhydderich Hael, the XX day of December, in the 50th year of the Society.

Barony of the Rhydderich Hael - Champion Scroll

To all seeing these presents, the nobles and gentles of the Rhydderich Hael wish the enjoyment of perpetual peace. Since those things which are done lapse with the passage of time, and unless they are corroborated by written testimony, will easily slip the memories of men, and be changed, we wish it to be known to all people both now and in the future that we, Magnus and Murigel, 11th Baron and Baroness of the Rhydderich Hael, for the preservation of that true nobility and the constant courtesy we have in {_________________________}, have named him/her as the Baronial Chivalry Champion. Therefore, in order that no calumny may arise in the future, and in order that all doubt may be removed, we have strengthened this gift of ours, corroborating it in writing and with our hands at Baronial Champs, the 29th day of May, AS51.
