Trusty and right welbeloved we greet you well, and would and charge you that after sight hereof and by virtue of the same, you, Alrekr Bergsson, Master Bowman, accept from Our hands the tassel of scarlet and argent, and the scarf of crimson and take your place within the Noble Order of the Scarlet Guard and further do We Grant you with arms, title and honor and charge the aforesaid Honorable Lord Alrekr to consult with Our College of Heralds to have created such arms unique to him that he may display them as he does service to Our fair Kingdom. Thus We have signed with Our hands these present letters, made and given at Our Castle in Hunter's Home, on the day of Archers To the Wald, the eighth day of October, AS one and fifty.
Inspired by a letter from Henry the VII to the Under Treasuerer of England, concerning the charges of the Scottish ambassadors.
