Kingdom of AEthelmearc - Writ

Pay heed to the words of the King and Queen of Sylvan AEthelmearc. Unto Our noble servant, Katherine Kersey, Baroness of Our Court. Forasmuch as We have of late had many diverse and astonishing reports of your acts, and being that we have long known of your dutiful and diligent service to The Crown and to Our Kingdom and forasmuch as it is the duty of the Crown to recognize and provide due and just reward for those Our subjects of especial fidelity and service, do We command unto you that it be Our express pleasure and will that you answer the following question: will you join the Noble Order of the Pelican and take your place among the Peerage of the Known World. Our people will contact your people to set a day and time for you to answer this Our question. And further do We command that these Our letters shall comprise sufficient warrant and discharge of your duty in this behalf. So signed Gareth, King. So signed Julianna, Queen, on this 26th day of September, AS61, at Our hunting lodge in Our Shire of Heronter, at Harvest Raid.

Scroll Text - Chebe - Writ for Mark 2026

Kingdom of AEthelmearc - Writ

Now hear the form which the Crown grants Peace and Reward to those who do serve Our Realm.

One named Chebe, from the far East, did serve the Crown in both times of war and of peace.

Not content with being a simple man, this Chebe became a warrior and engineer.

For he did make armor to take to the field and cause to be raised a great siege engine,

A descendant of awesome Warwulf and terrible Ludgar, which caused stone to fly

And drop upon Our enemies and threw down towers and battlements.

Not content with being a simple warrior, or engineer, he led a company of siege specialists upon the field,

And in times of peace did teach all he knew of engines, fletching, and smithing to all who who sought him out.

Not content with sitting in his smith waiting for students, Chebe traveled with his knowledge and engines,

To teach new students, to train new warriors, to educate new engineers.

So in sign of Lordship, at Harvest Raid, AS60, Andreas and Kallista, third of those names,

Did give unto Chebe a Writ ordering him to set aside his tools and join the Noble Order of the Mark.

Now, this third day of January, at 12th Night, in the Rhydderich Hael,

The Crown caused everywhere to be proclaimed to Baronies, Cantons, Shires, Colleges, and Dominions,

That the name Chebe you will hear afterwards in the talking of this elevation

Shall be henceforth be added to, and be accompanied by, the Noble Order of the Mark.

Thus did Andreas and Kallista sign with Letters Patent, this document and

Gave a feast and ceremony for the newest member of the Peerage of AEthelmearc.

Kingdom of AEthelmearc - Writ

By the King Trusty and by the Queen Welbeloved. For certain causes and considerations, We and Our Council have heard words of your crimes and We can no longer assent to standing idle by. Noble Peers have provided evidence to Us that certain crimes of marshaling, cooking, cleaning, acting as a champion and a seneschal has been done by you within and without Our Kingdom. And furthermore, committing acts of Service and Kindness both within and without Our Kingdom without any shame or hesitation. By recommendation of Our said Council, We specifically command that you, Gareth Whytebull, present yourself in front of Our Court and Our Council of Pelicans to answer these certain charges laid against you. You will, at a time and at a place agreed upon, be set forth a challenge of three parts. The first shall be that you shall sit and do nothing; you shall lift not a thing, clean nothing, nor run any activity. The second shall be that you hear words of wisdom from others with knowledge of your crimes in hope that they might teach you your place. The third shall be you will, in front of Our Court and Ourselves, answer such questions We will put before you. Gareth, gather to yourself a jury of your peers to speak upon your behalf and prepare yourself for Our Judgment. So commands the King and Queen of Sylvan AEthelmearc, Andreas and Kallista, third of those Names, on this 20th day of September, AS 60, on the first day of Our Reign.

 Kingdom of AEthelmearc - Writ

Unto Our worthy servant, Ragnarr Bjarnlyr, We greet you well. Forasmuch as you are of late far from Our presence in this Realm, in the wilds of Steltonwald, esteemed Nobles of Our Court have carried word to Us and Our Council, and made Us privy there unto the many duels and valuable training you have offered to the good fencers of Our realm, We let you therefore wit that Our pleasure and express will is, that upon the allegiance and duty you owe unto Us, make your presence known at date agreed upon so that We might induct you into Our Most Noble Order of Defense. Letting you further to understand, that any who might call this Our decree into question, and deny Us, We shall proceed against them, according to Our laws in that behalf provided. Given by Our hands, AS 60, at the Great Pennsic War. So signed Murdoch. So signed Rioghnach.

Kingdom of AEthelmearc - Writ

Your Excellency, We greet you heartly well, letting you wit that it seems like just yesterday that you came to Our Court from Our Cousins of Hispana, with scissors, needles, fabric and pins and a desire to clothe all in the style of the Spanish court. We have received letters and open credence also which Our Nobles of Counsel have shown before us of the work with not only the fabric of cloth, but the fabric of the mind within class rooms and crafting rooms. By Our commandment, We have had communication with the said Nobles of Counsel upon the work you have done for several generations of AEthelmearc Royalty and the years of teaching you have done for Our subjects, as well as of the service that you seem unwilling to shy away from. Therefore, Elena de la Palma, We have commanded, by the instruction and recommendation of Our Nobles of Counsel, that these words of commandment be written and read to you, as well as delivered in writing signed with Our hands, with copies sent to the Five Regions of AEthelmearc so that all shall know that We will and command you to set aside a time and a place and answer Us the question of whether or not you will join the Noble Order of the Laurel. And if it shall seem you this matter be jest, than we pray you these words were made in Our Name and signed with Our own hands for We would not wish this honor to be done by any other than Ourselves. And these Our words writ upon this paper shall be good and sufficient warrant of safe travel anywhere within Our Kingdom. Here signed Gareth, King, and here signed Juliana, Queen, the 13th day of January, AS 58, in front of Our Court at Our Castle in the Barony of St. Swithin’s Bog.

Kingdom of AEthelmearc - Service Award

By the King and Queen of Sylvan AEthelmearc. Trusty and welbeloved Robert O'Conner, for as much as in certain matters that greatly touches and concerns the good will of Us, Our predecessors, Our successors, Our Lands, lordships and subjects, we have been inspired and struck in awe as to the quality and quantity of service which you have done for Our Kingdom and Society. We have had words with nobles beyond reproach, who feel that they have much in common with you, so We will and desire therefore that you accept this Writ from Our hands and charge you and command you to appear before Us on the occasion and date that you decide where and when you shall answer Our query, to wit, whether or no you shall take your rightful place as a Peer of AEthelmearc and join Our esteemed Order of the Pelican. Let this Writ act as a warrant for safe passage to any and all places within Our domain, and let him feel Our wrath if any does dare stay you from your journey. Done by the hands of Marcus and Marguirete, on the day of Our first Court, the 24th of September, AS 51, in Our Shire of Herontier.
